In a thin film transistor-driven organic EL display element, at least one of thin film transistors or a second thin film transistor is formed of a p-channel thin film transistor so as to suppress deterioration with time of the thin film transistors. The p-channel thin film transistor and the thin film transistor in the built-in driving circuit are formed in the same process.
