1. The method of determining the content of bright coal carriers, especially in moulding sands, consists in depositing the bright coal - educed during the heating process of samples (especially of a moulding sand) - on the surface of the filler. It is characterised in that bright coal is educed in the atmosphere of inert gas. Then, oxygen and/or a gas containing oxygen are fed and bright coal is burned. Combustion gases are analysed to determine the content of carbon dioxide. The content of carbon dioxide is used to determine the content of bright coal carriers in examined sample.7. 7. The device is designed for determining the content of bright coal carriers and/or pyrolytic products, obtained from coal-forming additives, especially in moulding sands. It is equipped with a chamber, where controlled temperature changes occur, and a reactor in the form of a quartz tube, containing quartz wool as filler. It is characterised in that a lance (2) and a container (7) with an examined sample are placed inside the reactor (1), filled with the filler (3). The inlet of the conduit (4) feeding nitrogen into the reactor is located near one end of the reactor. At the other end of the reactor, there is the inlet of a conduit (6), which feeds oxygen into the reactor, and the outlet of the conduit (5), which carries waste gases away from the reactor, to a three-way valve (9), connected with conduits (10) and (15) to the T-pipe (11). An NDIR sensor is installed on the conduit (10).
