Spreader (1) for a container lifting vehicle for picking up and transporting containers has four twist lock holders (2) mounted on it. The spreader can be moved in all directions. It has a direct suspension (7) between each yoke beam (4) and the spreader, whereby the suspension point (11) is linked directly to an adjuster (8) so that it can be positioned in the longitudinal direction of the spreader. All connection constructions (9, 13) are mounted between the yoke beam and each suspension point.
