Production of glass wire by drawing a multiplicity of molten glass filaments using a pre-drying operation during reeling to conserve the humidity of the coating solvent

The production of glass wire (1) consists of drawing a multiplicity of molten glass filaments (2) flowing through a multiplicity of orifices (3) in a die plate (4). A coating composition with a generally aqueous solvent base is deposited on the filaments before the gathering of the filaments in one or more wires and the reeling of these wires on at least one coil (8). The coil is subjected to a drying treatment in which pre-drying is operated during the reeling of the coil. Independent claims are also included for: (a) a reeling device used in this method of glass wire production; (b) an installation for glass wire drawing by this method; (c) a device for the production of glass wire by this method.
