It is possible to provide a network switch apparatus capable of performing packet priority control, increasing the use efficiency of the buffer to store a reception packet, and reducing the parts cost. The reception packet (10) is stored in a buffer corresponding to its destination network under control of a buffer control circuit (3). Moreover, a priority class judgment circuit (2) judges the priority class of the reception packet (10). The buffer control circuit (3) creates transmission queues (4-1) to (n) capable of registering packets of a plurality of priority classes. When writing the reception packet (10) into the buffer, judgment of the priority class judgment circuit (2) is performed in such a manner that the reception packet (10) is reserved to be transmitted after the last packet registered on the corresponding transmission queue among the packets of the same priority class.
