The system has a clipping discharge path which leads grass clippings from the outlet (6B) of a grass collecting duct (6) to a grass catcher (5). A bottom plate (63) is set at the outlet of the duct, to pivot about a pivot shaft (73) between a guide position and an upstanding position. A shortening mechanism is installed to the bottom plate, to shorten the distance of the plate front end from the pivot shaft.
