[Also in Division C3] A photographic vesicular material comprises a film of an acrylonitrile/alkyl acrylate or methacrylate copolymer in which the alkyl group contains 1 to 8 carbon atoms and in which the amount of acrylonitrile is between 45 and 90%, and a light-sensitive material dispersed in the copolymer so that an imagewise exposure and heating a vesicular image is obtained. Specified light-sensitive materials are diazonium compounds and the specified copolymers are methyl methacrylate/acrylonitrile and ethyl acrylate/ acrylonitrile. Preferably the material is coated on a support which may be black to give an image of better contrast. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 999, 166. |
