PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bathtub which does not give cool feeling even when skin touches a backrest section exposed above the hot water level. SOLUTION: A bathtub 1 is provided with a backrest section 2 which consists of a side face 1b, a heating means 3 which heats the backrest section 2, a hot water level position sensing means 4 which detects the hot water level position W in the bathtub 1, and a heating area decision means 5 which decides a heating area of the heating means 3 according to the detected hot water level position W. And the bathtub 1 is installed with a heating stop means 5 to stop heating of the heating means 3 when the hot water level position W is lower than the lower limit reference position A.
