<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize high recording density by reducing noise and enhancing signal characteristics, in a phase change type optical recording medium formed by superposing two information layers one on each other wherein a track pitch is made narrower than that of the prior art. <P>SOLUTION: The phase change type optical recording medium has: a first information layer comprising a phase change optical recording film disposed in a position near to a light incident side; a second information layer comprising a phase change optical recording film disposed in a position far from the light incident side; and an interlayer separation layer provided between the first and the second information layers. At least one of the first and the second information layers includes a noise relaxing film which is coming in contact with the interlayer separation film and composed of SiO<SB>x</SB>(1≤X≤2) or SiOC. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
