<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer capable of negotiating with a host computer without reclosing a power supply even if an indefinite signal is outputted when the host computer is actuated. <P>SOLUTION: The printer comprises an interface 27 for receiving print data after negotiating with a host computer 40 connected externally, a means 23 for making a decision whether negotiation by the interface has ended or not, a means 28 for resetting the interface upon elapsing a specified period after starting negotiation if a decision is made that negotiation has not ended yet, and a means 18 performing print operation based on data being transmitted from the host computer after ending negotiation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
