PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that image unevenness occurs if the light projection intensity from a light projecting apparatus is constant if the image pickup distance between a camera and the object is different in many cases, e.g. near in a perpendicular direction and far in a horizontal direction, in other words, a long distance and a short distance coexist in the distance to an object, although some conventional cameras extend the light projecting area by preparing a light projecting means rotatable in a horizontal direction or an uneven embossing provided on the front surface of the light projecting means. SOLUTION: In this monitoring camera apparatus, a light projecting means is provided with a plurality of light sources so that the light projecting direction of the light projecting means is polarized in a direction in which the image pickup distance to an object is far.
