PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound using as a NMR shift reagent which is manufactured easily, without using a complicated manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The chiral shift reagent for NMR consists of optically active binaphthyl compound expressed by Formula (1), (in Formula, each of R1, R3, R4and R5express a proton, containing substituent or a non-proton containing substituent with the same or different substituent.
