PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vessel bottom inspecting apparatus for reducing an abrasion of a belt and adaptable to a plastic vessel such as a soft PET bottle. SOLUTION: The vessel bottom inspecting apparatus is provided with a carry-in conveyer 1, a carry-out conveyer 5, and an inspecting means 15 for inspecting a bottom of the vessel 10. The inspecting means 15 comprises: a base 25 disposed between the carry-in conveyer 1 and the carry-out conveyer 5 and having an opening 20 smaller than the bottom of the vessel 10; an imaging part 30 for upwardly imaging the bottom of the vessel 10 from the base 25 through the opening 20; and an intermediate conveyer 40 having a pair of belt conveyers 35a, 35b for clamping an outer side face of the vessel 10 and for carrying the vessel 10 as the vessel 10 is slid on the base 25 from the carry-in conveyer 1 to the carry-out conveyer 5.
