PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tapered roller bearing for a transmission capable of stably maintaining bearing performance for a long time by certainly preventing occurrence of creep. SOLUTION: In the tapered roller bearing 10 for the transmission, an outer ring 11 has a groove 11d radially formed in the back surface 11c. A housing 15 has a slit 15d formed in the inner peripheral surface 15b of a bearing storage section 15a. The base 16a of an L-shaped key 16 is engaged with the slit 15d, and further a groove 11d of the outer ring 11 is engaged with an erected section 16a of the L-shaped key 16, thereby engaging the housing 15 with the outer ring 11 via the L-shaped key 16 to prevent the creep of the outer ring 11.
