METHOD FOR PRODUCING NEWSPRINT PAPER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce newsprint paper that causes no trouble due to paper dust and contaminants because the contaminants in the regenerated pulp produced from used paper is reduced and has excellent ink receptivity. SOLUTION: In the method for producing the newsprint paper by using raw pulp to which the regenerated pulp from used paper is combined, the regenerated pulp starting from used paper is subjected to a dust removing step comprising two or more screens including at least a screen having round holes of 0.5 to 1.5 mm bored and another screen having slits of 0.05 to 0.25 width bored so that the area occupied by the contaminants becomes≤25 mm2in a paper area of 1 m2.
