PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sintered magnetic core with a high specific resistance that can also be applied to a high frequency area, and a soft magnetic iron-based powder that is available as a raw material powder of the magnetic core. SOLUTION: By manufacturing the sintered magnetic core using the soft magnetic iron-based powder of which a cover layer includes an Mn-Zn spinel ferrite phase and contains Si and Ca, a compound oxide of a low fusing point containing Si and Ca is eccentrically formed on an insulation layer formed to separately cover soft magnetic iron particles, thereby holding high specific resistance even after sintering.
