<p>Microvibration occurring in an objective is suppressed by moving the objective lens such that the relative speed to a carriage becomes zero based on a TZC signal indicative of traverse of a track in an optical disc by a light spot during seek operation. In the control, position of the objective lens in the carriage immediately before starting seek operation of the carriage is detected and stored in a storage means, and position of the objective lens in the carriage during seek operation is detected. If the error between that position and the position stored in the storage means is larger than a preset threshold value, position of the objective lens in the carriage is corrected to the position stored in the storage means.</p> |
