PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method for producing a fluorine-containing ether compound capable of obtaining the same in a relatively short time in a high selectivity and having simple after treatment process. SOLUTION: This method for producing the fluorine-containing compound expressed by the formula: RfCH<SB>2</SB>OCF<SB>2</SB>CHR<SP>1</SP>R<SP>2</SP>(wherein, Rf, R<SP>1</SP>and R<SP>2</SP>are defined by claim 1) is characterized by performing the reaction of a fluorine-containing alcohol expressed by the formula: RfCH<SB>2</SB>OH with a fluorine-containing olefin compound expressed by formula: CF<SB>2</SB>=CR<SP>1</SP>R<SP>2</SP>.
