PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing cyclododecatriene-1,5,9 in high selectivity and high yield from 1,3-butadiene. SOLUTION: The method for producing cyclododecatriene-1,5,9 involves using as the catalytic component a catalyst comprising (1) a compound of the general formula:I<SB>4-a</SB>TiCl<SB>a</SB>( (a) is a number meeting the relationship:1≤a≤3 ), (2) a compound of the general formula:AlR<SB>m</SB>X<SB>n</SB>( R is an alkyl; X is a groupVII halogen atom; and n≤2, m≥1, wherein m+n=3 ) and (3) a Lewis base.
