MODULAR PLUG FOR TERMINATING CABLES

A modular plug for terminating cables with twisted signal pairs comprises a housing which has slots at the front end for receiving contact terminals and a cavity opening longitudinally extending at the rear end; and a strain relief member which is provided with channels for receiving cables. A wire alignment member is placed between the strain relief and the housing and at least arranged in the cavity. The wire alignment member facilitates the cables alignment in place in the slots, and it presses the cables when the cables are received in the strain relief member. The wire alignment member is provided with some finger-shaped holding pieces to press the cables. The finger-shaped holding pieces apply a clamping force to the cables when they are received in the channels of the strain relief member.
