<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading apparatus by which a user does not select an execution disabled function by mistake by suitably informing the user about a function with respect to copy processing executable in response to a connected printer device (e.g., the printer device is compatible with color or monochromatic color). <P>SOLUTION: The image reading apparatus 1 is characterized by including: a function detection means for detecting a function with respect to copy processing with which the printer device 17 connected to the image reading apparatus via a USB cable 19 is compatible; a display section 11 for displaying a function with respect to the copy processing; and a control section 2 for controlling display contents by the display section 11 on the basis of the result of the detection by the function detection means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
