<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of supplying device state information on a fault etc., to an information managing device at a service center etc., at proper time while avoiding an external invasion through a communication line such as a network. <P>SOLUTION: An information management system for image forming apparatus which is equipped with the image forming apparatus 20 and the information management device 90 managing its information is equipped with a communication connection means 44 of preparing equipment 80 which can be connected to the communication line for the image forming apparatus, and is ready to connect with the communication line through the equipment 80 which can be connected to the communication line.
