<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid polymer electrolyte fuel cell which is excellent in gas sealing performance and low in output power reduction even under long term operation. <P>SOLUTION: The solid polymer electrolyte fuel cell comprises a film electrode junction in which a cathode catalyst layer and an anode catalyst layer are bonded to the center of a solid polymer electrolyte film from the both surfaces, and furthermore that matter is sandwiched by a fuel electrode member having a larger area than the cathode catalyst layer, and an oxidant electrode member having a larger area than the anode catalyst layer from the both sides; and an oxidant separator board and a fuel separator board both of which sandwich the film electrode junction. A portion or the whole of a hole formed in a fuel sealing supporting part of the fuel electrode member is filled with a resin, and the fuel sealing supporting part surrounds the cathode catalyst layer. A portion or the whole of a hole formed in an oxidant sealing supporting part of the oxidant electrode member is filled with a resin, and the oxidant sealing supporting part surrounds the anode catalyst layer. Gaps are formed between the fuel sealing supporting part and the fuel separator board, and between the oxidant sealing supporting part and the oxidant separator board. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
