HYDROPHILIC COMPOSITION, HYDROPHILIC MATERIAL, AND ITS MANUFACTURING PROCESS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrophilic composition which is used as a coating agent to render the surface of a material for medical equipment hydrophilicity and a hydrophilic material having a layer composed of the hydrophilic composition on the surface of the material and its manufacturing process.

SOLUTION: The hydrophilic composition consists of an ammonium salt of sulfated or phosphorylated chitosan and the ammonium salt of a sulfated polyvinyl alcohol. The hydrophilic material has a layer consisting of the hydrophilic composition on its surface. The manufacturing process of the hydrophilic material comprises forming a hydrophilic coated layer by coating the surface of the material with the hydrophilic composition and drying it.
