PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator door modifying method capable of easily and inexpensively modifying an existing door device provided in an elevator hall to a structure with high hermeticity without requiring large modification. SOLUTION: In the method for modifying the existing door device provided in the elevator hall to the door device with high hermeticity, a sealing member 24 made of an elastic element is attached to a door pocket side end portion of an existing door panel 12. On the other hand, a part on the door pocket side of a side frame portion 4 of an existing jamb 3 is cut off, and an angle material 41 is attached to the cut off edge portion so as to be disposed near the sealing member 24. The sealing member 24 is brought into contact with a door pocket side corner portion 41a of the angle material 41, thereby modifying the elevator door to a structure sealing a clearance G between the existing door panel 12 and the side frame portion 4 of the existing jamb 3.
