The invention relates to a stator for an eccentric screw pump or an eccentric screw motor, comprising an outer tube provided with a lining consisting of rubber or the like and a cavity in the form of a two-start or multiple-start coarse thread for receiving a rigid rotor also in the form of a coarse thread, the stator respectively comprising one more start than the coarse thread of the rotor. So that the stator remains operable even under conditions in which the adhesive bond between the lining and the outer tube can be destroyed e.g. by chemical influences or high temperatures, two inner tubes comprising openings are arranged in the lining.
