PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas permeable membrane excellent in gas permeability more than a conventional membrane and excellent in mechanical strength and resistance to a solvent, and a method for manufacturing the gas permeable membrane having a high quality stably and at a low cost. SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing the gas permeable membrane at least provided with a first process for developing a mixture solution including a reactive group containing polymer material and a photopolymerization initiator photopolymerizing the reactive group containing polymer material to form a thin film 5, a second process for irradiating the thin film with light 7 and photopolymerizing the reactive group containing polymer material to form the gas permeable membrane, and a third process for drawing up the gas permeable membrane from the water surface, the first, the second and the third processes are performed under circumstances 8 including an inert gas.
