PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extend the service life of a filter becoming an industrial waste in a waste water treatment apparatus using activated carbon together with a filter for filtering waste water. SOLUTION: This waste water treatment apparatus is provided with a waste water treatment tank 4 having cylindrical filters 3 inserted therein, the filters having filter paper 2 for filtering waste water and absorbing impurities contained in waste water; an activated carbon storage tank 5 connected to the treatment tank through pipes for supplying fine particles of activated carbon with a particle size larger than the pore diameter of the filter paper of the filter to the outer periphery 3a of the filter in the treatment tank; a first valve V1 controlling supply amount of activated carbon of fine particles in the storage tank to the waste water treatment tank; a second valve V2 controlling supply amount of tap water for mixing with activated carbon of fine particles; a third valve V3 controlling supply amount of mixed aqueous solution of activated carbon supplied through the first valve and tap water supplied through the second valve to the treatment tank; and a control part controlling respective valves to form a mixed aqueous solution of activated carbon and tap water and adhering it to the entire outer periphery of the filter paper of the filters inserted in the treatment tank.
