REACTIVITY CONTROL IN SUBSTITUTED DIACETYLENIC MONOMER SHELF LIFE MONITORING SYSTEMS

An active form of a product shelf life monitoring system comprising substituted diacetylenic monomer component is obtained by recrystallization from a refluxed solution. The reactivity of the diacetylenic monomer component, such as 2,4-hexadiyn-1,6-bis(ethylurea) depicted on Figure 3 significantly increases if the component is recrystallized from the refluxed solution (lines 34-38) compared to non-refluxed solution (line 32). The activity depends on the time of refluxing (lines 34-38).
