<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading apparatus for transferring print data generated on the basis of image data of a read original to a printer device via a communication cable capable of carrying out proper error recovery processing when the printer device is reconnected to the image reading apparatus after connection to the printer device by the communication cable is released during the transfer of the print data and a transfer error takes place. <P>SOLUTION: When the printer device is reconnected to the image reading apparatus after the occurrence of the transfer error due to the disconnection of the connected printer by the communication cable during the transfer of the print data generated on the basis of the read image data to the printer device via the communication cable, the image reading apparatus transfers un-transferred pages of the print data when the reconnected printer device is the printer device having been connected before the occurrence of the transfer error and transfers the print data from a top page when the printer device having been connected before the occurrence of the transfer error is a different printer device. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
