<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further enhance grounding effect in a card connector by using a metal cover for ground connection by slightly deforming a part of the metal cover of the card connector. <P>SOLUTION: This card connector has an insulating housing in which a signal terminal and a ground terminal are disposed and a metal cover. The movable part of the ground terminal is positioned in the vertical upper region of a ground contact part on the surface of the card inserted in a card storing space, a part of the metal cover is positioned in the vertical upper position with the part having a portion overlapped with the movable part of the ground terminal in the thickness direction of the movable part of the ground terminal, and when the card is inserted in the storing space, the ground contact part on the surface of the card is brought into contact with the movable part of the ground terminal, and the movable part of the ground terminal is displaced to the vertical upper region in its thickness direction.
