<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable only an article, which is to be discarded because of expiry of its sell-by date, can be registered for discarding. <P>SOLUTION: Wireless tags are fitted to respective articles and identification information of articles at least corresponding to the wireless tags is stored. Article display parts 10A and 10B where the respective articles are displayed are provided with display part tag recognition means 11A and 11B. A store server 6 acquires information regarding the sell-by date of each article displayed at an article display part from wireless tag storage information read by a display part tag recognition means to generate a list of articles whose sell-by date expired, and outputs the list of the articles to a POS terminal 5. The POS terminal 5 has an input means 7 of inputting identification information on an article. Then the POS terminal 5 retrieves whether an article identified with the identification information inputted from the input means is present in the list of the articles whose sell-by date is expired and performs data processing wherein the article is decided as an article to be discarded when the article is present in the list. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
