<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a purification medium and a purification apparatus which have simple structure which cannot be realized by the conventional biological purification apparatus for a breeding tank. <P>SOLUTION: In a hollow solid 1 or a hollow purification medium which is hollow, and has a number of pores in a partition wall between the inside and outside, aerobic bacteria are raised and propagated on the surface and in the pores of the hollow solid or purification medium, and anaerobic bacteria are raised and propagated inside. Hazardous ammonia and nitrogen generated from the excretion of fishes and shellfishes, residual feed and the like can be converted by the aerobic bacteria to nitrate, and nitrogen can be decomposed from nitrate in liquid by the anaerobic bacteria in the hollow inside. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
