PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switching power supply having a snubber circuit capable of realizing satisfactory heat radiation properties with a simple structure. SOLUTION: The snubber circuit 6 including a capacitor 61, a diode 62, and an inductor for regeneration 63 is connected with a rectification circuit 5. An LC series resonance circuit is constituted by the capacitor 61 of the snubber circuit 6 and the inductor 4 for resonance provided on a primary side. With this constitution, surge voltage applied to diodes 51, 52 of the rectification circuit 5 can be restrained. The cathode of the diode 62 of the snubber circuit 6 is connected with a ground contact line LG. A conventional special structure becomes unnecessary for the purpose that keeps thermal conductivity between a radiation plate on the cathode side of the diode 62 and a chassis while electrically insulating both of them, thus facilitating the structure and securing the optimum radiation.
