PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that for improving light extraction efficiency, even though the structure including a white additive in a rear dielectric layer and the structure providing a white layer between the rear dielectric layer and a phosphor layer have been disclosed in a cellular structure of a surface discharge type plasma display device, the effect is small with the former and the manufacturing cost thereof rises with the latter. SOLUTION: A plasma display device has a light scattering property in the rear dielectric layer or a partition wall and contains the additive having a portion contacting to a space and then enhances light dispersion performance to improve light take-out efficiency, without increasing the manufacturing cost.
