PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an article registration apparatus that can register an article for an accurate price without double taxation when a bar code on a label attached to the article sold is printed with a price including tax as price information. SOLUTION: On the basis of a label printed with information for selling an article and, in a bar code, an article number, a price including tax and the like of the article, an input is made for calling article information stored in a PLU file in a RAM 13. When issuing a receipt, a CPU 11 automatically selects whether or not to tax the price information in dependence on the inputting means that has been used to call the article information.
