PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illuminating device for an elevator, making the brightness of a ceiling part uniform without increase in costs, and heightening the design nature concerning illumination of a car by eliminating uneven light. SOLUTION: A plurality of light sources 20 are disposed to be shifted from each other in zigzag and be arranged side by side in the directions of columns and rows in the ceiling part 4 of the car 1 of the elevator. As the light sources 20, straight pipe-like cold cathode fluorescent lamps elongated in one direction are used, and disposed along the column direction of the ceiling part 4. The light source are thus disposed in zigzag to generate blank parts A, B where the light source 20 is not disposed in the ceiling part 4 of the car 1, so the blank parts A, B are provided with a plurality of reflecting members 21a, 21b for reflecting the light emitted from the side parts of the light sources disposed on the sides of the blank parts A, B toward the end parts of the light sources 20.
