PARTICLE FOR FUNCTIONAL MATERIAL, AND MANUFACTURING METHOD OF FUNCTIONAL MATERIAL AND PARTICLE FOR FUNCTIONAL MATERIAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a particle for a functional material, which composes the functional material and can improve easily functions imparted to the functional material, and its manufacturing method.

SOLUTION: The particle for the functional material is used for forming the functional material and contains metal particle having an outer surface, in which a first surface part containing a metal carbide and a second surface part extending outward from the first surface part are formed on at least a part of the outer surface of the metal particle. The manufacturing method of the particle for the functional material comprises a step of placing the metal particle inside a space containing a hydrocarbon-containing substance and a step of heating the metal particle to a temperature equal to or lower than the melting point of the metal.
