<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize the size reduction and raising of the efficiency of an inverter by reducing the loss of the inverter without deteriorating the drive efficiency of a motor. <P>SOLUTION: In the apparatus for controlling the motor, an inverter supply voltage generating means having an inverter supply voltage arithmetic means 10, a voltage converting means 11 and a battery 12 changes an inverter supply voltage Vdc by synchronizing with motor application voltages Vu<SB>-</SB>pwm, Vv<SB>-</SB>pwm, Vw<SB>-</SB>pwm.
