摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve welding strength by jointly using a pressurizing force to a test material in the laser welding of a light metal material. <P>SOLUTION: Magnesium alloys 1, 2 superposed by a lower and upper jigs 11, 11 are held by a first pressurizing force, with YAG laser emitted in the direction from the magnesium alloy 2 to be welded. After the laser beam irradiation for a prescribed time, it is stopped, and simultaneously pressurization is imparted by a second pressurizing force, which is higher than the first; thus, lap welding is performed. Further, a focusing position P is set above the magnesium alloy 2 to be welded, preventing evaporation of the magnesium alloys 1, 2 at the time of welding, softening or half-melting the magnesium alloy 2 in a large area, and increasing the welding area to enhance the welding strength. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p>
