PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an occurrence of a step or the like in an engagement groove provided in a height adjustment member when it is assembled thereinto and reduce the cost of a mold for molding the height adjustment member. SOLUTION: In an armrest device of a chair made by fitting a cylindrical height adjustment member 12 having a plurality of stages of vertical engagement grooves 14 opening diagonally upward on the inside of the front into the upper end of a cylindrical armrest support 2 facing upward, vertically slidably fitting an armrest support rod 3, the upper end of which is fitted with an armrest 4, into the height adjustment member 12, and by providing a stop member 13 selectively engaged and disengaged with the engagement groove 14 in the armrest support rod 3, the height adjustment member 12 has a structure divided into the right and left along the longitudinal direction, an engagement groove 14 is provided in one of the semi-cylindrical pieces 12a and 12b of the divided height adjustment member 12.
