PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an add (insertion)/drop (branching) optical switch which is applied to an optical switch for switching an optical path, relaxes stringent requirements of an conventional optical element and driving device in the accuracy of machining, positioning and angle. SOLUTION: In a typical embodiment, the add/drop optical switch is provided with: L sets of opposite collimators composed of an input collimator and an output collimator; M pieces of drop collimators; N pieces of add collimators; a fixed reflection element disposed at each of crossing points of the optical paths of the opposite collimators and the optical paths of the add/drop collimators and for varying the angle of the optical path; and at least one or more movable optical units composed of one or more optical path move elements having at least a pair of parallel surfaces. The movable optical unit moves toward the crossing points of the optical paths by a driving device and moves in and out the optical path to switch the light from the input collimator to the drop collimator and to switch the light from the add collimator to the output collimator.
