PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ridge structural member for ventilation and ventilator to enable indoor natural ventilation on a roof. SOLUTION: In a ventilator apparatus constructed so as to surround the ventilation opening formed in the roof, a ridge structural member for ventilation has a U-shaped section, an external shielding face is formed by a plurality of shielding plates 7 in the external connection plates 9 of a pair of long support girders 6 of which the U-shaped opening faces are opposed to each other and the inside shielding faces are formed by a plurality of shielding plates 8 on the inside connection plate 10. Further, the ventilator has U-shaped section and the external shielding face is formed by a plurality of shielding plates 7 in the external connection plate 9 of a pair of long support girder members 6 that U-shaped opening faces are opposed to each other and the upper ends of a pair of ridge structural members 2 in which the inside shielding face is formed by a plurality of shielding plates 8 in the inside connection plate 10 are connected to be openable and closable by the rotatable connection member 3 and the lower part of a pair ridge structural members 2 can be widened.
