PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide inexpensive antibacterial wire which has high antibacterial action, free from deterioration and discoloration, and is used for food equipment, medical equipment, various filters, interdental brushes or the like. SOLUTION: The antibacterial wire has a plating layer on the surface of a metallic wire, wherein at least the surface layer in the plating layer is provided with an Ag-Zn alloy plating layer.
