PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the efficiency of dehydration by preventing an object of treatment from being transported reversely or being caught in notched parts by eliminating the formation of the notched parts on a helical blade by making motion interference between the helical blade and resistive elements evadable on the side of the resistive elements in a screw dehydrator in which the resistive elements for preventing the following rotation of the object of treatment are provided on filter screen. SOLUTION: A rotation preventing mechanism for stopping the following rotation of the object of treatment is provided on a filter screen 10. The rotation preventing mechanism is composed of a case 32 for covering a small window 31 opening on a screen wall, rotation resistive elements 33 housed in the case 32, and a regulating body 34 for regulating the loose rotation of the rotation resistive elements 33. The rotation resistive elements 33 are pivotally supported so as to be rotatable in the state that part of the resistive elements 33 are projected in the rotation region of the helical blade 23 through the small window 31. By performing the accompanying rotation operation of the passive part 38 of the rotation resistive elements 33 with the helical blade 23 when a compression screw 9 is rotationally driven, the motion interference between both is dissolved.
