<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately apply a design image regarding to the overlapping of the design image and a print output image when the print output image is printed while the design image is added thereto. <P>SOLUTION: A determination process of an application layer of the design pattern (S3301) determines that a watermark printing or an overlap printing is used for printing of the design pattern on the basis of an area in which the design pattern overlaps an original content of the original data.
