<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate variation in the tone of magnetic noise in a two level electric vehicle, and to control the output voltage substantially continuously over the entire region. <P>SOLUTION: The controller of an electric vehicle for controlling driving of the electric vehicle by controlling a plurality of switching elements in a plurality of control modes to convert a DC voltage into a variable voltage variable frequency three-phase AC voltage and supplying a motor with an AC output from a two level power converter outputting a positive/negative binary pulse as its phase voltage is provided with a means for making sequential transition of a pulse width modulation (PWM) control mode, an asynchronous overmodulation control mode and a single pulse control mode as the plurality of control modes when the electric vehicle is operated from low speed to high speed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
