摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the performance of a braking device equipped with a rotary-linear motion converting unit, by adopting a rotary-linear motion converting unit which has greater load withstanding capacity and higher degree of freedom of setting inverse efficiency than a ball screw type rotary-linear motion converting unit. <P>SOLUTION: A braking device 10 for a vehicle includes a motor 44 as a rotary actuator, and the rotary-linear motion converting unit which converts the rotary motion of the motor 44 into the linear motion. The braking device presses brake pads 18, 20 as fixed-member side friction members against a brake disk 16 as a rotary-member side friction member by the linear motion to thereby generate braking force. The rotary-linear motion converting unit is a planetary differential screw type rotary-linear motion converting unit 26 including a screw spindle 28, a plurality of planetary screw rollers 56 arranged around the screw spindle so as to be screwed therewith, and a roller nut 30 surrounding the screw spindle and the planetary screw rollers so as to be screwed with the planetary screw rollers. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p>
