PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a contact injection charging method and a charger with which a body to be charged is uniformly and stably charged over a long term, and an image forming apparatus which adopts such the charger, so that an image carrier is uniformly and stably charged over a long term and an excellent image whose image noise is restrained is formed over a long term. SOLUTION: A photoreceptor 1 being the body to be charged is charged by charge injection by a fur brush roller 21. In such a case, the surface of the photoreceptor 1 is coated with a charge accelerating particle supply agent 22 obtained by dispersing conductive particulate fillers functioning as a charge accelerator in a solid lubricant composed of fatty acid metallic salt or material principally composed of fatty acid metallic salt, and also the roller 21 is brought into contact with the coated part of the photoreceptor 1 with the agent 22 so as to charge the photoreceptor 1 by charge injection.
