IMAGE SIZE REDUCING SYSTEM, DISPLAY CONTROLLER, AND IMAGE SIZE REDUCING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image size reducing system which can suppress the deterioration in image quality after the reduction of an image size with a smaller scale, and to provide a display controller and an image size reducing method. SOLUTION: The image size reducing system 10 includes a first LPF 20 which performs a first filter processing to cut the high-frequency component of the data of a luminance component, a second LPF 30 which performs a second filter processing to cut the high-frequency component of the data of a color difference component, and a thinning processing section 40 which performs a thinning processing to thin the outputs of the first and second LPFs 20 and 30. The first LPF 20 includes the data of the first and second luminance components of the format of a YUV 42 inputted in time sharing and subjects the data of the plurality of the luminance components to the first filter processing. The data of the first and second color difference components in the format of the YUV 422 are inputted to the second LPF 30 in time-division manner. The second LPF 30 subjects the data of the first color difference component to the second filter processing and subjects the data of the plurality of the second color difference components to the second filter processing.
